Digital Dividend
The Australian government has recently re-purposed a range of the UHF frequency spectrum for telecommunications use. This means that the legal operating frequencies for personal broadcasting have changed.
As of 1st of January 2015, any broadcasting system operating in Australia, including wireless microphones and other wireless audio systems, must now operate between 520-694MHz. This is not only a legal requirement, but an operational requirement to prevent interference that can be picked up in commercial broadcasting frequency ranges.
The Pasgao range that SWAMP distributes in Australia generally will have a frequency range between 655-679MHz, though please check the specifications listed.
While 520-694MHz is the general frequency range for operation in Australia without needing approval, the available frequencies bands do vary by location. PASGAO 4-Channel Wireless Microphone System - Handheld Mics
The PAW-4000 is a 19" rack mountable 4 channel microphone system that allows for 10 frequency groups, each with up to 12 channels, adding up to a total of 120 usable channels that won't interfere with each other. Intuitive operation and easy set up makes this system a perfect choice for theatre companies, event organizers, and audio hire companies.
PAH-1200 Handheld Wireless Vocal Microphone
The PAH-1200 is a vocal microphone housed in a cast metal body for superior mechanical strength. The frequency response replicates that of popular dynamic vocal mics giving crisp, clear mid range sound that rejects feedback. A backlit LCD display shows the operational status of the microphone, including current group, channel, battery charge, and lock status. The removable grill allows for easy replacement if damaged. This microphone is perfect for performing bands, weddings and other functions with multiple or animated/mobile speakers or vocalist. The broadcasting range of this mic is 655-679MHz, making it both legally and functionally suitable for most areas of Australia.
PAW-4000 4-Channel Wireless Receiver
The PAW-4000 is capable of receiving up to 4 separate wireless microphone signals. Infrared (IR) 'transmitter to receiver' synchronization makes for a simple setup even with multiple units. The auto-detect function allows the user to scan for vacant frequencies. Featuring two antennas that the receiver can switch between automatically to prevent dropouts while a performer moves around stage. The backlit LCD shows the status of each receiving channel, including the current frequency, signal strength, and input volume. In addition to the 4 in 1 output bus (balanced and unbalanced), each channel has it's own separate balanced XLR output.
19 Inch Rack Mountable
The wireless receiver in this kit comes with rack ears included and can be mounted in an audio 19" rack case, taking up 1RU of space. A protective case will make this system much more suitable for taking on the road, and easier to transport safely.

So Far So Good
By: Trevor on 4 April 2018Needing to find an affordable but reasonable quality four channel wireless microphone system, I chanced upon the PASGAO PAW-4000 at Swamp. I went down to the warehouse to check them out. Swamp were very understanding of what I needed and helpful in their advice. The 30 day return policy meant this was a low risk purchase. On trying the system at home we found they produced a bit of handling and breathing noise. This was somewhat reduced by adjusting the gain on the mics. However, using them at church we found this was not noticeable at all. I also received positive comments about how well they handled the vocal range of our song leaders. The metal casing are also a big plus for robustness given the mics will be handled by multiple users. We've only been using them for three weeks but so far so good. I think they will work very well.
