SWAMP DIY Build Your Own Electric Guitar Kit - Les Paul Style
One of the best-known electric guitar types in the world, the Les Paul electric guitar kit from SWAMP is an ideal way to personalise and make your own. If you don't have the carpentry or wiring skills of a Luthier, this is the solution with all the parts.

The Guitar Body
First manufactured and sold by Gibson in 1952, the Les Paul shaped guitar is one of the most famous of all guitar designs. Due to their versatility, Les Paul electric guitars have been used in a wide range of music genres, including rock, country, pop, soul, rhythm and blues, blues, jazz, reggae, punk, and heavy metal. Solid basswood guitar bodies have a big, well-balanced tonality. There's a strong midrange, but also a certain softness and breathiness. On a well-made guitar, basswood can produce great dynamics and definition.

Happy with my results, but . . .

Over all this kit is excellent for the price and I am very happy with the completed guitar. Just a couple of small issues with the kit contents - a few screws missing. However of a bigger concern was the instructions: If you look you will notice that the Item being sold is a SS-GK SLPP 345 and if you look at the PDF instructions, you should also note that they are for an SLPP 380 - unfortunately the wiring diagram does not directly corelate to the wiring provided in the kit. The kit really only has yellow and red wires, but the instructions (you can download them now) talks of purple and green . . . it's not necessarily difficult to work out what's needed to happen, but with the different earth connection (to the 3 way switch instead of one of the pots) it might take a minute to interpret. This was a small thing for me, but I know it would be a major thing for others. Simply having access to a correct diagram and I'd rate this 5 stars - as it is though - great kit with an extra challenge thrown in :)
