A ribbon mic is an ideal addition to your mic collection, especially for vocals, acoustic instruments and guitar amps. The MXL R144 provides amazing warmth and smoothness at a budget friendly price. The mic comes complete with a shockmount, cleaning cloth and a silver flight case.
Legendary Microphone
Ribbon microphones are known for their rich, warm sound and have been used to capture some of the most legendary recordings in history. When used for guitar amps, it captures with a smooth sound and excellent low frequencies. Harmonics are recorded well when considering placements, excellent for orchestral instruments. It is alwasy interesting to experiment with front and rear ends of the mic with vocal sessions.
