This joint is designed to enhance a standard microphone stand so that it is able to hold heavier microphones. With a locking teeth mechanism in the pivot joint, it will prevent any slippage, no matter how extended the boom arm is. While it comes with a short boom, any 11mm diameter boom extension can be fitted into the boom slot, improving on the usual friction-based pivot joint that most microphone boom stands use.

By: Shane Baker on 7 October 2016I haven't had an opportunity to use the clamps as yet, but looking at them from an engineering point of view, they are extremely robust, and should give long service if looked after during use. So if you are like me, and take care of your tools, they should last a lifetime.
