JOYO JF-31 Noise Gate Guitar Pedal
The JOYO JF-31 Noise Gate Pedal is a simple, non complex and highly effective pedal to place at the end or beginning of an effects pedal chain. The purpose of the Noise Gate pedal is to eliminate unwanted noise between musical pauses, rests and songs when playing live. JF-31 has been specifically designed for use with a guitar.
How to Use the Noise Gate?
A noise gate is works as a noise eliminator that prevents unwanted buzzes and feedback from being amplified when you are not playing guitar. Setting a threshold, or volume level limit on the pedal determines when the noise gate is "opened" to let signal pass, and when it "shuts" to prevent signal from passing through to the amp. To achieve this, set the amp, pedal and guitar levels to the optimum level and then wind in the threshold to the point where all the notes, sustains and chords ring true and then cut off before any buzz, noise, or feedback enters the amp.
True Bypass Switching
The JF-31 has true bypass for eliminating any signal interference when switched on or off. Can be used with AC adapter (optional) or 9V Battery.

almost useless slow gate
By: Anonymous on 11 August 2021I heard it was a Decimator clone but it is not close. The gate is very slow to engage and I've found that it's useless after the lightest gain stage, even when dimed. So far I've found it only works right after your instrument, that way you can at least eliminate some guitar noise. However, it's almost on 3oclock just to achieve that. If you're after a cheap gate I know that the rowin gate is much better.

By: Michael Haller on 11 September 2015I normally spend three to four times as much on effect pedals but I saw the Joyo Noise Gate on You tube and thought I would give it a try. It is fantastic and does everything it should. I am saving now for an all tube Joyo practice amplifier.
