By: Gavin on 2 December 2013I bought 3 of these for use in a live band situation. I've found them pretty useless to be honest. When you put a standard mic clip on them with a sm57 mic, the head of the mic ends up almost in the centre of the drum.... right where the drummers will be hitting!! I've tried all sorts of things to make it better (getting the mic nearer the rim) but nothing has worked. The only thing I can think of is using mini drum mics with a very short reach. So to sum up, if I want to use these clamps, I have to buy all new drum mics & get rid of my shure mics, lol. To hell with that!

Fantastic!! Currently I am trialing a one unit deep 19" rack mounted tunable preamp. It offers 8 tunable channels into 1 channel out to the desk. So far so good. I now take up only 1 channel on the desk. My mixer now loves me. Anyway, I hope this info is useful to you. Talk soon. J
