Carbon Fibre Soundboards
Research and development of carbon fibre as an acoustic material began quickly in the early 2000's and was predicted to overtake the use of woods as soundboards for stringed instruments. For guitars, carbon fibre’s durability, sound, consistency, and weight make it an attractive option. Not only is the material tougher to dent, scratch, or crack than wood, it’s also resistant to changes in temperature or humidity. You wouldn’t have to worry about your carbon fiber guitar as much when going camping with it, taking it on planes as a carry on, or going over to your friend’s place to jam.
Richlite - Fingerboards of the Future
Originally developed over 70 years ago, Richlite has proven to be incredibly durable, extremely versatile and a highly sustainable material to use for fingerboards. After two decades of research and discussions with guitarists, Gibson determined that Richlite was not only the best alternative to woods like ebony, but was actually superior. It is also scratch, heat, and stain-resistant, and has better stability and tonal qualities. Many guitar players feel strings bend more smoothly on a Richlite fingerboard.

Stop thinking about it and just buy it
By: Anonymous on 23 June 2024I truly didn't expect this guitar to be as good as what it is. It is a normal weight guitar. The neck and the fretboard are brilliant. Unplugged it produces a great acoustic sound that is a touch louder than my wooden acoustics. Very comfortable to play standing. Looks way nicer than the photos suggest. Because the sound hole is in the traditional position, it looks to the non musicians in the audience to just be a classy black ordinary wooden guitar. It's better than that. Out of the box the action was too high for my liking, but that was quickly and easily remedied with a truss rod adjustment. The intonation is perfect all around the fretboard. The internal speaker is really just a subtle boost, but it definitely sounds natural and it sounds great. The included effects are very decent. Can't find fault with it at all and it has now become my main gigging guitar.
