Amazing mic for guitar amps, rooms, brass!
By: Dax Liniere on 2 October 2023I absolutely LOVE this microphone. I run a studio complex in London, UK and this mic is used on EVERY recording session involving a guitar amp. It sounds fantastic - big, clear, wide frequency response. I love it so much I bought a second so I can use them as stereo room mics on drums and many other instruments, a task at which they excel mightily. Also great on brass. I have a few other ribbons, active and passive, and these are by far my favourite. If you're considering a ribbon microphone, don't let the price fool you, this is a STELLAR ribbon mic at ANY price.

Classic Ribbon Sound

Great classic ribbon mic
By: Anonymous on 28 October 2022I bought a pair of these mics, they have a classic ribbon tone (rolled-off highs, warm resonance in the low-mids, they love boosting highs with EQ, etc.). Having ribbon mics that are immune to phantom power damage and sound similar regardless of preamp impedance is very useful! I used them as stereo drum room mics; great at capturing the character of the room minus the transient info that clashes with overheads & close mics. Also used them on a Roland JC60 to eliminate the brightness from the speakers, also great job at adding warmth to a very clean amp. Used on trumpet & trombone, along with a pencil condenser to catch the highs that the ribbons were missing, sounds like you're in the room they were recorded in. Big fan of these
